Where Are The Small Sailboat Launch Ramps?

Larry Ellison and most sailors started sailing in inexpensive small boats.  But, if you have one, where do you launch it?  We found the Encinal launch ramp in Alameda and, while there, came across Hobie Island sailor and fisherman, Chris Paterson, as he pulled his well-rigged trimaran.  He’d been out on a hot, windless day and had caught just one ling cod but it was a beautiful day to be on the Bay.

Chris is a member of the Northern California Kayak Anglers and fishes regularly up and down the coast of Northern California with a regular crew of sailing, fishing kayakers!

So where are all the launch ramps?  If you know email jon@acsailingsf.com and we’ll add them here.

If you have a small, trailerable or car-toppable boat check out the Encinal Boat Ramp in Alameda.

Plenty of parking and plenty of dock space to get in and out of the Bay.

Chris returns from a day of fishing and a little sailing on a wind shy day.
