Join SailSFBay On June 20th For Summer Sailstice

SailSFBay is inviting the entire Bay Area to sail San Francisco Bay for the Summer Sailstice global celebration of sailing.  No boat?  No problem.  There are dozens of ways for anyone to get out and enjoy sailing one of the world’s finest sailing venues.

Many Bay Area sailing organizations will be opening their doors to offer sailboat rides while others will offer regular opportunities to sail as a charter guest.  When you’re out sailing make sure you enter the photo contest by using #sailsfbay on any photos you post.

Take a look at these sailing activities already posted in the Bay Area on the Summer Sailstice website:


 Sailing out of Sausalito the schooner ‘Freda B’ will offer public sails.


Treasure Island Sailing Center is a central Bay community sailing center that will host a variety of sailing activities. Check them out!


Encinal Yacht Club will host an open house, free sailboat rides, music and sailing fun all day.


In Sausalito Cass Gidley will offer a cruise-in dinner and a sailing movie night.


Sailing out of Emeryville, Sailtime San Francisco will have their fleet on the Bay.


In Clipper Cove off Treasure Island the ‘Washed Up Yacht Club‘ is organizing a weekend raft-up the weekend before Summer Sailstice.


Sailing Education Adventures in San Rafael will be getting folks out on the Bay.  Join Them!


The schooner ‘Seaward’ will be sailing with OCSC Sailing out of Berkeley.

Valentines Potluck

Afterguard Sailing Academy invites you to join their Meet-Up group for a raft-up and potluck on the Bay.


The Adventure Cat will sail you out from Pier 39 out under the Golden Gate Bridge.


Club Nautique in Sausalito and Alameda will be offering charters with a photo contest and opportunity to win a free charter!

Summer Sailstice 2015

Shoreline Lake in the heart of Silicon Valley will host a weekend-long event for dads and sailing!


Folsom Lake Yacht Club will be hosting a sail and raft-up.

MSC Yellow Circle Spaced

Modern Sailing Academy will host club sails and a Clipper Cove raft-up for Summer Sailstice.

Tradewinds Sailing Center in Richmond will be open to the public with an ‘Open House’ from 10AM to 3PM.

ACsailingSF will be taking public sails out of Pier 39 so you can sail an International America’s Cup Class yacht for Summer Sailstice!  Use #sailsfbay the weekend of June 20/21 for a chance to win a sail on this boat!


The ‘Bay Lady’ will be sailing out of South Beach Marina on a June 21st brunch pre-Giants game brunch cruise.

San Francisco Bay is home to dozens of community sailing programs, junior programs, sailing camps, charter boats and sailing schools.  They are amongst the best any where in the world and can offer anyone in Northern California access to one of the Bay Area’s very best recreational resources – The Bay!!

If you’ve never sailed the Bay or sail the Bay regularly you should be out to start your summer of sailing on Summer Sailstice weekend.  Schools out, the days are long, the sun is high and the Bay is close by.  With the summer ahead it’s a great time to start sailing the Bay.
